Ingredients for one liter:

320 g of raspberries
340 ml of food alcohol at 90 °
660 ml of water
300 g of sugar

How to prepare raspberry liqueur

Preparing homemade fruit liqueurs by making a syrup to combine with flavored alcohol is not difficult, the goodness of the result largely depends on the quality of the fruit, which is why those who grow raspberries and have the opportunity to use them as soon as they are picked certainly have an advantage.

First, the recipe begins with washing the raspberries, to be done quickly and very gently, so as not to water them down. Once our berries have been washed, they must be placed on a clean cloth and dabbed to dry them.

Then put all the raspberries in a large jar and add the alcohol. Close, shake lightly, and leave to rest in a dark place for a week, taking care to shake the jar once a day.

After the resting time, prepare the syrup: add the water and sugar to a saucepan and bring to a boil. Boil for 2-3 minutes then turn off and let cool completely.

Filter the alcohol with a fine mesh strainer so as to retain all the fruit and add it to the now cold syrup. Mix, bottle, and let it rest for another 3-4 weeks. The raspberry liqueur will now be ready to serve, an excellent choice at the end of a summer dinner.

Variants to the classic raspberry liqueur

The presented recipe can be further enriched with creativity, adding other aromas and combining different flavors with raspberries. Here are some ideas:

  • Vanilla. You can flavor the raspberry liqueur with half a vanilla pod, infusing it with the fruit.
  • Lemon. Lemon is very suitable for enriching fruit liqueurs. Try adding the last of half an organic lemon to the infusion of alcohol and raspberries.
  • Mint. Infuse a few leaves of mint to give the raspberry liqueur an even fresher and summery taste.
