Chicken with soy sauce: the recipe for a delicious and fragrant second course

Chicken with soy sauce is a fragrant and tasty second course, ideal for an ethnic and light dinner with a sweet and sour taste. The chicken nuggets will be marinated in the soy sauce to which we have added honey, lemon zest and juice, grated ginger and paprika. For cooking, simply pour everything into a non-stick pan or a wok, so as to obtain soft and delicious chicken nuggets. Chicken with soy sauce is perfect for any occasion, with family or friends, to be served with pilaf rice or with a side of pan-fried or steamed vegetables. Here’s how to prepare it to delight your guests.

Chicken with soy sauce ready in 20 minutes + TIMES OF MARINATION

How to make soy sauce chicken

Cut the chicken breast into pieces of the same size (1). Put them in a large bowl, add the soy sauce (2), honey, lemon juice and zest, grated ginger (3), crushed garlic and paprika.

Mix all the ingredients (4), cover the bowl with cling film and leave to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Heat the extra virgin olive oil in a wok or in a non-stick pan. Add the chicken with the marinating liquid and cook for about ten minutes over high heat (5) until the marinade is almost completely dry. Add the chopped chives, mix and bring to the table. Your chicken with soy sauce is ready to be enjoyed piping hot (6).


In our recipe we have not added salt, because the marinade gives the chicken the right flavour, you can still add a pinch of salt almost at the end of cooking if you prefer. For the marinade, you can use sweet or strong paprika or replace it with cayenne pepper.

For quicker preparation, you can make chicken with soy sauce without marinating: cut the chicken nuggets, dip them in flour and brown them in a pan with extra virgin olive oil. Add 5-6 tablespoons of soy sauce and let it evaporate.
