How to prepare the savoury broccoli pie recipe with ricotta
Clean the broccoli, cut out the florets and rinse them thoroughly. Blanch them in boiling water for a few minutes (1).
When the broccoli florets are cooked, but still al dente, drain and collect them in a bowl (keep some aside); add the ricotta (2) and mix thoroughly.
Season with a pinch of salt, season with ground pepper and then add 2 tablespoons of parmesan (3).
Add the diced mozzarella, diced ham and egg (4), then mix perfectly.
Unroll the puff pastry and transfer it to a 24-26 cm diameter pan, lined with a sheet of parchment paper; prick the pasta with the help of the tines of a fork (5).
Pour the filling into the puff pastry shell (6) and level well.
Sprinkle the surface with the remaining grain (7).
Fold the edges of the pastry back on themselves, creating a sort of border (8), and then brush with a little oil.
Bake the savoury pie in a preheated oven at 180 ° C for 25-30 minutes, or in any case until the surface begins to brown slightly. Remove from the oven and let cool, then turn out of the mould, cut into slices (9) and serve broccoli pie recipe.
You can use a roll of ready-made puff pastry (you can find it in the supermarket fridge counter) or you can decide to make it at home with our recipe.
You can use Sicilian broccoli, Apulian broccoli or, alternatively, Romanesco broccoli or cauliflower florets will do just fine. Instead of parmesan, you can add Parmesan or, for a stronger flavour, even a little pecorino.
For the filling, you can replace the cooked ham with speck, salami or pancetta: in the latter case, cut it into pieces and brown them in a non-stick pan for a few minutes; if instead you want to make a vegetarian version, you can omit it and replace it with dried tomatoes, soaked in water for a few minutes, well squeezed and then cut into strips.
The savoury broccoli pie recipe with ricotta can be stored in the refrigerator, in a special container with an airtight seal, for 1-2 days.
